Aerial Battle: Elian vs. Tygren

Drawn as a gift for Corey Cannon, these are two of the main characters from her unfinished Clash of Empires novel trilogy. The two characters - both of a shapeshiting race called xerdens - have only ever barely managed a truce of a friendship, and even then were usually at odds. One trying valiantly to kill the other is a much more natural state.

As the piece was intended to be a gift, I made every attempt to focus on details. As a result, it has stood the test of time and is still one of my favorites, even though it does show its age in a lot of places. Overall, the linework could have been smoother and Elian's swords are rather lacking. Still, it was and still is one of my more nicely done action pieces.
